I’m so glad that landed, Ruth. The communication layer is often the first line of visibility. If messages about women’s health can’t get through, nothing else does.
“Subtle ways patriarchy shows up”. Its a TT thang I started last year. Because patriarchy weaves into every single faucet of our lives over past 6000 it is hard to see it because it is the oxygen we breathe. It takes all of us working together to expose this and then create the systems we need. Not relying on the system created without us to change. Thank you for exposing this Maryann!!
Exactly, Holli. It’s so insidious that it becomes the oxygen we don’t notice we’re breathing. What gives me hope is precisely what you said: when we name it collectively, it starts to lose power. Thank you for being part of that shift.
Wow! This is so enlightening. This is so important in our comms roles.
