Now that i'm perimenopause, i've learn that I have zero fcks to give about capitalism and could care less about being ambitious at work. I have found it's very liberating and as a result, i'm happier at work now than I've ever been in my entire adult life.

KOB, this hits a nerve. If it takes perimenopause for women to finally feel free from the grind, what does that say about how much of our ambition was built for someone else’s benefit? What does it say about the conditioning that tied our worth to constant overperformance? It tells me the system was never built with women in mind.

I agree. The system was never built with women in mind and women are empowered to now choose their own path, in or out of the workplace. More and more women are rejecting the idea that they need to be more like a man to succeed.

Wow I’ve experienced this! It changed my whole thought process about the BS I’m willing to put up with in the workplace. I’m looking for employment but it’s gonna be on my terms. Sounds bold but I’m sick of the ways of the work environments I’ve dealt with in the past few years. I didn’t even realize my issues were menopause related for a long time but this is a real issue that we deal with.

I had all the symptoms when I first hit peri which was around when the pandemic started. I was lucky my employer had us WFH for 2.5 years; I wouldn't have survived perimenopause or work if I wasn't WFH then.
