Welcome to the billion dollar blindspot - the newsletter connecting capital and the future of women’s health.

🧭 New here? Start here.
Hi, I’m Maryann. I write this because I can’t not write it.
A few years ago, a personal health crisis collided with two decades in finance and revealed a truth I couldn’t unsee: women’s health isn’t broken, it’s mispriced.
That realization became The Billion Dollar Blind Spot - a book, a newsletter, and now a growing community of investors, founders, and allies rethinking how capital moves through the health economy.
This space is for people who believe capital can chase returns and correct systemic blind spots. For those who want to understand how we got here, where the smartest money is moving now, and how you can be part of it.
Every week, I unpack:
- Market signals across women’s health, longevity, and diagnostics
- Case studies of founders building what medicine overlooked
- Frameworks to evaluate traction, credibility, and exits
- Investor insights that connect the dots between purpose and performance
You won’t find clickbait or recycled takes here. Just grounded thinking at the intersection of care, capital, and conviction.
Who Am I?
I’m Maryann, an investment professional with decades of experience managing portfolios for ultra-high-net-worth clients. At one point, I advised on over $700M in assets. Today, I’m focused on a bold new frontier: redirecting capital to women’s health innovation.
What We Are Building
Behind this work sits a bigger mission.
I founded the FemmeHealth Alliance, a Swiss-based non-profit bridging capital, science, and policy to accelerate women’s health innovation across Europe.
Our aim is simple: to make women’s health visible, investable, and unstoppable.
This newsletter is where that mission comes to life through stories, data, and strategy that help people see what’s been hiding in plain sight.
What’s next
In 2026, my book The Billion Dollar Blind Spot will be published. It’s a look at how the markets overlooked half the population and why the next wave of capital is finally paying attention.
If this work resonates, here’s how to go deeper:
👉 Preorder the book – and be part of launching the movement that will shape the next decade of health investing.
👉 Join the FemmeHealth Alliance – connect with a growing ecosystem of investors, scientists, and policy leaders building a more inclusive future of care.
👉 Subscribe to this newsletter – for Sunday essays, investor frameworks, and behind-the-scenes insights that make you a smarter, more intentional investor.
Thank you for being here, and for helping build what’s next 💛
Maryann
